Resume Summary
Fred Thomas’ technical interest is in the fusion of new technologies for the enhancement or creation of new products. With 35 issued and 25 pending US patents, Fred has demonstrated his creativity in several fields, including data storage, sensors, actuators, electro-optics, machine vision, nano-technology, data security, netwrok attached storage and intellectual property strategy.  His work at Iomega Corporation was essential to the Zip, Jaz, DCT, Floptical, Peerless and REV removable storage products. His work on subwavelength optical data storage, which allows for multiple 10s of fold increase in the capacity of DVDs, is embodied in one issued and two pending patents.

From 1983 to 2006, Fred has demonstrated a capability to quickly assimilate the current state of affairs and creatively add new dimensions. He has demonstrated the ability to lead research teams, bring projects to completion on time, and act as a member of  cross-functional teams bringing new technology to the market.

Fred brings a world view to his endeavors, having lived in the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Sweden, Germany, and worked with leading companies in Japan, Sweden, China, Taiwan, Scotland and Korea.

Fred has been recognized for his accomplishments with the following awards:
